Why Jesus came

img_242fd78e8f1a-1It’s simple. Jesus came to save sinners.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

We have become so accustomed to the “What can Jesus do for me Gospel?” that we have forgotten the original plan and purpose for Jesus’ timely appearance in the Earth.

He came to save the lost, to set the captive free, to restore sight to the blind, to boldly proclaim the Jubilee Year of the Lord. He came for me. He came for you. He came because He loved the World. (more…)

Your Tongue. Your Life

img_6f3da8c27ad1-1Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life, blessing and cursing, are in the power of our tongue.  It’s simple.  You can have what you say.  God has given man an ability to speak and with that ability comes great power and consequence.  Jesus even stated that one day believers will be judged for every idle word that proceeds out of their mouths (Matthew 12:36). The Wilderness

img_a68bba572aa6-1Dave Roever stopped in the middle of his message and said, I don’t know who this is for, but if it isn’t worth dying for then it’s not worth living for.” I knew who it was for. It was for me.

Earlier that morning during worship, I had knelt and told the Lord, “This isn’t worth dying for.” Let me explain. (more…)

Ears Wide Open

img_48cb2ef23c5c-1I am facing some pretty daunting decisions in my personal walk with the Lord. It’s a time of transition from where I was into what Abba has for me.

So many questions run through my mind. Should I do this? Should I do that? How will Abba accomplish this? What’s my first step? Am I hearing correctly? (more…)

The Simple Life

img_1def5e9caf6c-1A thought occurred to me today. What if we lived a simple life in Jesus? By simple I mean what if we lived life on mission?

I believe that Jesus’ entire earthly ministry was summed up in these words from Acts 10:38. The king of the Universe went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. (more…)

Renewing The Mind

img_9718e264a554-1Ephesians 4:23 states that you and I should be renewed in the spirit of our mind. Why does our mind need to be continually renewed to the things of God? Because the mind is part of our soul which is left unregenerate when we were born again.

Man is a three part being. He has a spirit which gives life to his flesh which contains a soul. When we are born again, the Spirit of God quickens our spirit with the Holy Ghost. Our soul and flesh which are sold under sin remain in their unregenerate state. It is then our responsibility to yield to the Holy Ghost and let Him subdue our flesh and soul. (more…)

Redeemed From The Curse Of The Law

Redeemed From The Curse of the Law

img_0361Galatians 3:13 informs us that we are redeemed from the curse of the law.  The Greek word translated redeemed is exagoridzo.  The prefix ex means out, and the root word agoridzo is used in classical Greek of the slave market.

When we take all of this in, we see that you and I are bought out of the slave market of sin.  Jesus actually paid the price on the cross for you and I to be free.  Paul writes again in 1st Corinthians 6:20 that we were bought with a price.  Therefore giving us two witnesses from the word of God that the price for redemption is paid in full. Knowing Jesus

John 14:9 “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”

Knowing Jesus. Such a simple statement, yet for me the current enigma that dominates my thoughts and dreams. Let me explain.

I was born again in 1998 during the worst time of my life. I was alone in a cell facing life in prison for narcotics trafficking. I called out, Jesus answered and so my new life in Christ began. (more…)

Never Underestimate The Power Of A Made Up Mind!

When it comes to believing God, you’ve got to make up your mind and not back down.  Ordinary people accomplish the extraordinary when they refuse to give up.

This race we are called to run is not a sprint.  It’s a marathon.  To our eyes the goal always seems out there in the distance, but the truth is that it is already finished. (more…)
